Empowering Growth in Agriculture with a $3 Million Grant
The Development Bank of Solomon Islands (DBSI) is proud to announce a $3 million grant dedicated to assisting the agricultural sector. This initiative focuses on evaluating client applications and agricultural project proposals to enhance farm production, processing, and export capabilities.
Support Offered:
Our program offers comprehensive support for farmers, processors, and exporters looking to improve or expand their agricultural activities. The assistance includes:
- Loan Provision: Financial support for farmers, processors, and exporters who are already operational and wish to expand or consolidate their agricultural activities.
- Interest Payment Support: We offer interest payment assistance for existing processors during their setup period for a maximum of one year. This support aims to facilitate the expansion of operations.
- Loan Guarantees: We provide loan guarantees for existing farmers, processors, and exporters who are looking to upgrade or expand their agricultural produce and products.
Eligibility criteria
Eligible applicants include: Registered farmers, processors, and exporters in the Solomon Islands who are aiming to expand their existing farm produce and agricultural products.
Purpose of Loan:
The funding is designed to:
- Boost farm production, processing, and export capabilities.
- Provide working capital to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with transportation needs related to agricultural activities.
Security & Fees:
- Security: Loan security will be charged over the assets of the farmer, processor, or exporter. Additionally, a guarantee will be provided under the SME guarantee scheme.
- Interest Rate: 8%
- Maximum Loan Term: 5 years
- Establishment Fee: 5% of the loan amount, with a minimum fee of $750.
Loan Amounts
- Minimum Loan Amount: $50,000.00
- Maximum Loan Amount: $300,000.00
