MISSION    

To provide inclusive sustainable financial services to all Solomon Islanders in particular in the development of the rural areas, small and medium enterprises and commerce and industry.

 VISION       

To be the leader in the provision of development finance in the Solomon Islands and the Pacific!

 GOALS

GOAL 1

Support governments strategic objectives of improving the social and economic livelihoods for all Solomon Islanders

Strategies

  1. Contribute regularly and be part of government’s long-term planning and development processes for the country
  2. Involve in driving government development agenda in the rural areas, MSMEs, agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, Public Private Partnerships and other developments on a sustainable basis
  3. Support Government efforts in the development and uptake of transparency, good governance and ethical approach to development in the country
  4. Monitor all development interventions in the country and regularly promote DBSI involvement as a conduit for government contributions to these interventions.
  5. Seek and develop new sources of funding for the Bank

GOAL 2

Invest in the economic and social wellbeing of our stakeholders in an environmentally sustainable manner

Strategies

  1. Develop appropriate climate sensitive lending products that will support the productive and resource sectors (agriculture, livestock, agro-forestry, aquaculture, marine resources and fisheries including small scale rural fisheries, tourism, forestry and reforestation, mining and energy)
  2. Develop value chain financing mechanism in support of lending products
  3. Develop lending products in support of value adding aimed at increasing exports
  4. Support infrastructure and utilities proposal that will promote or improve production in the productive sectors
  5. Develop and prioritize support for the improvement and expansion of the information technology sector
  6. Develop and implement innovative underwriting criteria that enables use of land by traditional owners (rural and customary owned lands for commercial and agriculture development) whilst protecting the safety of the Bank’s lending

GOAL 3

Invest in our people by developing the highest standards of service, integrity and professionalism in the delivery of our services.

Strategies

  1. Ensure recruitment and retention of a skilled workforce
  2. Enforce transparency, accountability and good governance in all bank operations
  3. Develop a structured Human Resources Management Plan that takes into account the long-term needs of the Bank
  4. Develop appropriate Accounting and other Financial systems that adequately reports the Banks financial and developmental activities against agreed KPIs

GOAL 4

Become profitable in a sustainable manner

Strategies

  1. Ensure the sustainability of banking operations by managing assets and liabilities in prudent manner
  2. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the CBSI, GAAP, IFRS and any other prudential banking standards
  3. Develop, initiate and monitor end to end credit administration policies and procedures
  4. Adopt ICT applications in the delivery of banking services
  5. Develop and monitor lending budgets
  6. Develop and monitor financial budgets
  7. Identify and develop new sources of funding for the Bank
  8. Critically assess capex acquisitions.

  1. Recognizing the nature of our markets and developing products that provide practical solutions in the value chain for our customers.
  2. Pricing right.
  3. Developing the right culture in the network.
  4. Constant monitoring and evaluation of performance against set deliverables.
  5. Utilizing the digital platform as much as is practicable in the delivery of DBSI services.
